Welcome! I'm Susan Nye.
Writer, Blogger, Photographer, Chef & more.

I love storytelling and love to cook. Happily, I've  found a way to combine the two as a food writer and blogger. I'm writing a cookbook one-story-one-recipe at a time on my blog, Susan Nye - Around the Table.

Each week I share some of my favorite recipes along with personal stories or a little advice. Over the past few years I have shared tales of bike riding on Jackson Road, Christmas shopping with my Dad and baking pies with my Nana Nye. These are the stories that my family tells and retells around the table, sometimes laughing, sometimes cringing a bit but always happy to share favorite memories.

More than a Food Writer - I cover a variety of topics from food to green living, family fun, entrepreneurship, marketing and social media. You can find my work in magazines and newspapers through out New England.

Look for my stories in Around Concord , Best of Burlington , Here in Hanover , Image Magazine , Kearsarge Magazine , Merrimack Valley Magazine , New Hampshire Magazine , Parenting NH , The Heart of New England and Woodstock Magazine . You'll find my weekly column in the Intertown Record or on my food blog.

For more stories, commentary, rants and raves take a look at my other blog, cleverly named Susan Nye's Other Blog. Or take a peak at a day in the life on my photo blog, Susan Nye 365.

I look forward to sharing my articles, essays and recipes with you. To find my latest work, see me on television or in person, check my Out & About Calendar for publication dates, appearance and events.

Chef Services - Too busy to cook but still want to entertain? Let me cook for you. My kitchen is home to an eclectic mix of flavors from France and the Mediterranean with a bit of spice from the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. I look forward to delighting you and your guests with a delicious feast and a relaxed, stress-free party. Sit down dinner for family and friends? Buffet dinner or cocktails for a crowd? Casual cooking party or dinner with the chef? Take a look at my latest private chef and catering menu.

Eat Well – Do Good - With the new year came a new project … Eat Well – Do Good. In January 2010, I began hosting monthly dinner parties to thank old friends, new friends and soon-to-be friends for supporting a charity or non-profit which is near and dear to my heart. Learn more about this grass roots philanthropic effort.

Cooking Classes - My cooking classes are part party, part education and all fun! Around the Table takes a new approach to cooking lessons - no stuffy rules - just a fun evening to learn something new. You will learn simple, elegant recipes and tips for success in the kitchen.  I will share my favorite recipes and gadgets with you and create meals to remember.  We will then feast on these creations.  And to keep you going, you'll bring home all of the recipes. Interesting and tasty food, animated chatter and lots of laughter are standard fare at Around the Table.

Get a group together and explore delicious food from around the world at an Around the Table cooking class. Take a peak at sample menus and themes.

Whether I am sharing my stories or sharing my table, I have one goal, to make you smile.
